    About Kx

    Séamus was appointed as CEO in January 2020. He was first appointed to the First Derivatives Board as an independent Non-Executive Director in December 2012 and was appointed Non-Executive Chairman in July 2013. He has over 20 years’ experience in the global technology sector in finance and operational roles and has held a number of non-executive roles since 2012. He was chief financial officer of Logica plc from 2002 until 2010 when he became chief operating officer and head of its Benelux operations. Prior to his role at Logica plc, he worked for the Olivetti Group in senior finance roles in the UK and Italy.

    Graham is the CFO of Kx Systems, in addition to his role as CFO of Kx’s parent company, First Derivatives. He formerly held senior roles with KPMG, Bank of Ireland and Silverwood Property Developments Limited and is a Qualified Chartered Accountant. During his career he has worked on numerous corporate acquisitions and restructuring projects and has experience in Business and Acquisition Finance.

    Kathy was appointed as CMO in March 2020. Kathy brings extensive marketing leadership experience in the global technology sector, including senior marketing roles at privately-held as well as publicly-traded companies. Prior to joining FD, Kathy was global CMO at Sungard Availability Services. Before Sungard AS, Kathy was Senior Vice President, Product and Marketing for EMEA at Level 3 Communications. At Criteo, she held a global role on the executive leadership team as Senior Vice President, Marketing & Communications. Schneider moved from consumer products to the technology sector in 1999 when she joined Dell Inc., now DellEMC. While at Dell, she led various marketing functions at a country, regional and global level. She has spent the last 16 years working and living in London with her family and will be based in FD’s New York office.

    Alan has global responsibility for Kx sales and partners with a focus on accelerating the expansion of theKx streaming analytics platform into other industries, building on its strength in financial services. He brings a track record of growth and value creation at large, publicly-traded technology companies as well as early-stage, venture-backed businesses. Alan has been at the forefront of digital transformation and cloud journeys for many Fortune 500 companies, which is highly relevant to FD’s growth ambitions.

    Alan joins FD from Google where he was Managing Director for Google Cloud in the UK and Ireland. Prior to this, he headed the EMEA region for Pivotal Software, a cloud native and data modernization platform pioneer.

    Mark manages Kx operations worldwide, as well as new initiatives. He joined Kx in 2015 with over 20 years’ experience in capital markets and data analytics. Previously, as Global Head of Algorithmic Solutions at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, he managed the quant, trading, and technology teams, and introduced the FX execution platform built on Kx. Prior positions include Director, Foreign Exchange at Citigroup, designing FX algorithmic execution strategies; and Director, Head of Algorithmic Trading at Deutsche Bank, implementing the bank’s first tick history database using Kx; and Partner in an active trading firm specializing in strategies based on Deep Learning methodologies.

    Gerry is an innovative, technology executive with over twenty years of enterprise software and financial services experience. He was the Founder/Co-Founder of four technology companies each with a successful onward sale. His career spans Tibco, NEON, MSB, Thompson Reuters, Fundclear and he has acted as advisor to IONA, Objectstore, Wombat and the NYSE. Gerry has a unique knowledge mixture of the technology markets with strong industry connections, deep knowledge of, management, sales, marketing, technology and capital markets trading. Global work experience split between London, New York and California. He is a highly motivated entrepreneurial background with a complete understanding of running a focused organization delivering technology solutions.

    Since joining First Derivatives in 2009, Catherine’s background in finance, consulting, managing clients and internal teams have proved vital in her role as SVP of HR and Training for FD and Kx. Catherine has been pivotal in leading the strategic growth and development of our staff and clientele over the last decade, with her success recently culminating in her being named Deloitte’s Women in Technology Advocate MNC Patron in 2019. Prior to joining FD Catherine worked at PwC as an accountant in audit, management consultancy and forensic accounting at PwC.

    David is responsible for First Derivatives and Kx global operations including business systems, methodologies, processes and controls. In this role, he will drive the company’s operational efficiency and effectiveness aligned to its strategy and in support of First Derivatives’ strong growth goals. avid has worked for more than thirty years across the professional services, software and financial services markets in a series of financial, operational and M&A leadership roles. Prior to joining First Derivatives, David was the finance director of Group Transformation for the Lloyds Banking Group. Before that, David held a number of senior finance and operational roles across software and professional services at Logica plc and at Axiom Systems Limited.

    Since joining First Derivatives as a software engineer in 2009, Conor has worked in many countries building bespoke trading and risk systems for some of the world’s leading financial institutions. After moving into business development and operations, Conor is now Head of Customer Success. During his time with FD, Conor has been a recipient of the Irish Echo’s “40-under-40” award and represented Ireland at the World Economic Forum. Conor holds a BSc. in Financial, Mathematical and Actuarial Sciences from University College Cork and a MSc. in Computational Finance from the University of Limerick.

    Victoria has held several roles within the firm, since joining in 1998, including Financial Engineer managing several global accounts and working with many of the world’s leading banking institutions. Now Head of Professional Services, Victoria continues to play a key role in the company’s growth. Victoria holds an Engineering degree and an MBA from Queens University Belfast.
