The folks at Bedarra Research Labs in Ottawa recently added some stuff to their web site. Highlights include great scripting query examples in Ivy, their interactive analytics platform that leverages kdb+ and the q programming language.
In their demo, they load up a billion row table and then perform a simple date query to filter the dataset down to 60 million records in 86ms. Then they render the 60 million records as a binned heat map in about 7 seconds. They use a C3.2xLarge Amazon instance but they are only using 6 of the 8 cores.
