Kx Retires 32-bit Kdb+ Software

Due to rising market data volumes tick database and complex event processing software vendor Kx Systems has announced that the primary focus will now be on the 64-bit version of Kdb+. The 64-bit version, which has always been available, is now being used by all Kx clients, and has so much space that even Kx has been unable to fill it. The previous 32-bit version will continue to be available as a free download and can be run on a PC for testing and learning the system and the q programming language. The decision follows the recent announcement of Kdb+ v.2.5 with speed improvements, added interfaces and Dtrace support.
